The Bernese Mountain Dog is a large breed of dog originally from the Swiss Alps.

They were bred as working dogs, used for herding cattle, pulling carts and as watchdog.

The breed is known for their distinctive tri-colored coat and friendly temperament.

Bernese Mountain Dogs were first brought to North America in 1926 and have since become a popular family pet.

The breed is recognized by the American Kennel Club and is a member of the Working Group.
