The Alaskan malamute is a large breed type of domestic dogs. They are generally bred for their endurance to haul heavy freight and strength. They are similar to other arctic breeds like Samoyed dog, Canadian Eskimo dog, Siberian husky dog and Greenland dog.

Weight of the female Alaskan malamute is about 75 pounds ( 34 kg) and height is about 25 inches or ( 64 cm) tall. In males, the weight is 85 pounds (39 kg). However, sometimes you can notice a remarkable difference between males and females weight of up to 100 pounds or more.


  • They are facilitated with a double coat, the undercoat can be thick as 2 inches with an oily and woolly texture.
